Notice to Participants
About Sessions
- The Computer Security Symposium 2021 (CSS2021) will be held online via Zoom Webinar (via Zoom Meeting for some sessions).
- Links for each session will be shared through the portal site. Please enter the sessions at their start times.
- During CSS2021, functions such as microphones, cameras, screen-sharing, chat, and audience Q&A will be restricted in most sessions. Please use the “raise hand” function on Zoom to ask questions so that we can unmute you.
- You will be asked to enter your name in Zoom to participate the sessions. We recommend registering your real name and affiliation, but this is not mandatory if you are just listening the sessions. Listening to the sessions via Zoom does not require creating an account.
- Please note that there will be no on-demand streaming of the presentations at CSS2021.
About Zoom
- Participants can use Zoom via PC browser or application, or a smartphone application for Android or iPhone. Please note that functions are limited in the web browser, and therefore, we cannot assure a smooth operation. We recommend installing the Zoom PC application to participate in the sessions.
- The latest version of the Zoom application can be downloaded from the following URL: https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting
About Slack
- Slack can be used to discuss and/or ask questions with the presenters during CSS2021. We also use Slack to make announcements (registration with Slack is not mandatory).
- We recommend using Slack because it can be accessed outside of the session hours. For example, participants can send questions and comments while reading the papers prior to the session. Slack can also be used to communicate with other participants.
- Please note that the chairpersons may read out questions posted on the Slack channel. When the session is in progress, please refrain from asking questions or making comments to anyone other than the presenters.
- To ask questions or make comments, we recommended using mentions such as "@Presentation Number." In addition, please add (Q;) for questions and (C;) for comments.
- To join Slack, you will be asked to create an account for the CSS2021-Official workspace. After registering, you will separately receive instructions on how to join Slack.
- Please set your Slack display name as "Name_Affiliation."
Symposium Guidelines
- Do not slander others, impersonate others, or make comments that other participants may find offensive.
- Refrain from advertising or promoting specific individuals or organizations for profit.
- All discussions shall be considered as general issues. Avoid discussing individual cases, and pay close attention to research ethics in the security field.
- If you do not comply with the above, you will be warned and may be asked to withdraw from the session.
