Traveling to Sendai Railway Station from Airports and Tokyo/Ueno Stations

  • From Narita International Airport (NRT) to Sendai Airport (SDJ): There are two flights per day by ANA from Narita Airport to Sendai Airport (SDJ). They take approximately 70 minutes.
  • From Narita International Airport (NRT) to Tokyo/Ueno Stations: Walk to Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station or Narita Airport Terminal 2, 3 Station: Narita Airport has two railway stations and you can choose the nearer one out of them according to your arrival terminal. At those stations, you can take two limited express trains, one is "Narita Express (NEX)" to Tokyo Station by JR East, and the other is "Skyliner" by Keisei Line to Keisei-Ueno Station. Both require extra express train ticket for boarding.
    • By "Narita Express", it takes approximately 60 minutes from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station.
    • By "Skyliner", it takes approximately 60 minutes from Narita Aiport to Keisei-Ueno Station. You need to move to JR Ueno Station which is about 400 meters far from Keisei-Ueno Station. It will take about 5 minutes on foot.
The route after Tokyo or Ueno stations will be found in the item "From Tokyo or Ueno Station to Sendai Station" below.
  • From Haneda Airport (Tokyo International Airport, HND) to Tokyo Station: Move to Tokyo Station by train or bus. There are several ways to Tokyo station:
    • At Haneda Airport International Terminal Station, you can take the Keikyu-Line to get to Shinagawa Station. At Shinagawa, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line or the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line or the JR Tokaido Line and get off at Tokyo Station. This route will take approximately 40 minutes to Tokyo Station.
    • At Haneda Airport International Terminal Station, you can take the Tokyo Monorail Line to get to JR Hamamatsucho Station. At Hamamatsucho, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line or the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line and get off at Tokyo Station. This route will take approximately 35 minutes.
    • At Terminal 1 of Haneda Airport, you can take an airport limousine bus bound for Tokyo Station Marunouchi-Kita entrance. This will take approximately 40 minutes.
The route after Tokyo station will be found in the item "From Tokyo or Ueno Station to Sendai Station" below.
  • From Tokyo or Ueno Station to Sendai Station: At those stations, you can take the HAYABUSA (or HAYABUSA-KOMACHI) superexpress trains of Tohoku Shinkansen to move to Sendai Station. For Tokyo Station, please make sure that the arrival track of Narita Express at Tokyo station is far from the tracks of Tohoku Shinkansen, and it takes about 10-15 minutes on foot. For Ueno Station, the tracks of Tohoku Shinkansen are located at deep underground, so it takes about 5 minutes from the entrance gate on foot. Note also that the Skyliner's "Keisei-Ueno" Station is different from the Shinkansen's "JR Ueno" Station, although they are close in about 5 minutes on foot. The Shinkansen trains require extra express ticket for boarding.
  • From Chubu International Airport (Centrair, NGO) to Sendai Aiport (SDJ): There are 6 flights per day by ANA and IBEX airlines from Chubu to Sendai, and they take approximately 75 minutes.
