Presentation

●The presentation time

Each presentation time is 20 minutes. (15 minutes of lecture time and 5 minutes of Q&A time). The time includes the change of the speakers.

●Presentation tool

We will use Zoom for all the presentations in SCIS 2023. We will setup Zoom for each room. The invited talk and the night session are also broadcast by Zoom. We will send the Zoom URLs to the participants before SCIS starts.

●Form of presentation

We will prepare a laptop for presentation (hereafter the "SCIS laptop") in each room, and it will be connected to the projector in the room and Zoom. Participants' laptops cannot be connected to the projector.
An offline speaker can use either the SCIS laptop or his/her own laptop. In the latter case, the speaker is asked to join Zoom corresponding to the room, and share his/her screen during the presentation. An online speaker is asked to join Zoom and give his/her presentation by sharing his/her screen. An online speaker should join Zoom 10 minutes before his/her session starts.
We might not be able to prepare wifi that is sufficient for Zoom for many participants, so we recommend that speakers use the SCIS laptop. Speakers can use both ppt and pdf files in the SCIS laptop. If an offline speaker wants to use his/her own laptop, we strongly recommend that he/she prepare wifi connection (e.g. mobile wifi) by him/herself as a backup.

●Registration of slides and the form of presentation

We will ask speakers to register whether they will be online/offline, and their presentation slides beforehand. The slides are for backups for those who speak online or use their own laptop. How the speakers register them will be announced soon.
